Celebrating milestones of the cannabis industry

30 years of Sensi Seeds

On Thursday the 8th of October 2015, important figures from the Spain and international cannabis communities gathered in the Hash Marihuana Cáñamo & Hemp Museum of Barcelona, for the opening of a special exhibition: ‘Grow On: 30 years of Sensi Seeds’.
Sensi Seeds was founded in 1985 by cannabis entrepreneur and visionary Ben Dronkers, who also founded the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum in Amsterdam and Barcelona, and the industrial hemp factory HempFlax. This year, Sensi Seeds, which grew to become the largest cannabis genetics seed bank in the world, is celebrating its 30th anniversary, with among other things, a very special exhibition in their Barcelona museum.

The exposition displays the rich history of this famous company that created legendary cannabis strains such as Jack Herer, Black Domina, Skunk #1 and Northern Lights. ‘Grow On: 30 years of Sensi Seeds’ will be open to visitors until May 1st, 2016.

HempFlax invested 5 million euros in Romania

And there was more to celebrate for Sensi Seeds. On the 16th of October, its sister company HempFlax opened a brand new factory in Romania. A new and very special chapter for the company that aimed to relaunch the European hemp industry 20 years ago, and is successfully doing so.
