*Michael Boniello – Managing Director, Poseidon Asset Management
Michael is responsible for early-stage diligence on companies, managing the policy and regulatory landscape for the firm, as well as co-managing investor relations for Poseidon’s funds. He has spent the past year raising capital for Poseidon’s second fund which was closed to new investors on March 31, 2020 after a successful capital raise.
Michael spent three years at Merrill Lynch’s Private Bank and Investment Group co-managing over $1.5 billion in assets for high net worth individuals, families, and foundations. Prior to Merrill, he was an Assistant Vice President at Barclays co-managing over $1 billion in assets. Before Barclays, Michael worked at Thomas Weisel Partners and was also a founding member of a family office where he served as a Bond Analyst and Assistant Portfolio Manager. He entered into the cannabis industry in 2013 doing pro-bono business and regulatory consulting work for early stage companies trying to navigate the highly fragmented and regulated industry.
