'Trump Will Be Thrown in Jail in Hush Money Case' Says Legal Analysts

Several legal analysts predicted on Thursday that former President Donald Trump would be sentenced to time in prison after a jury found him guilty of all 34 counts in his New York hush money trial.

During an appearance on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront, former Department of Defense special counsel Ryan Goodman said, “I do anticipate that the district attorney will ask for some sentence of incarceration, and I do think that there’s a good likelihood that the judge will impose some sentence of incarceration.”

After CNN host Erin Burnett asked Goodman whether the sentencing – set for July 11 – would get delayed until after the Republican National Convention on July 15, Goodman replied, “I think the sentencing will probably happen according to the speed that the trial process should happen.”

He noted, “Many of these judges in all of these cases against Trump have said, ‘Look, we’re gonna respect the criminal justice process. We’re not going to go according to political calendar.’”

“But then they would delay the sentence until after?” questioned Burnett, to which Goodman replied, “100%, he will not be remanded to prison until he exhausts his appeals.”
