HMO Hell ~ Nightmare Tenants Slum Landlords

A landlord in Wembley, North London, needs help to evict an abusive and threatening tenant living in his house in multiple occupation.

In Blackburn, Lancashire, a letting agent inspects a shared house in which an untidy tenant hasn’t paid rent for 10 weeks, only to find some unusual pets having a bath. Nearby a guarantor gets a surprise visit and bill, as her son has done a runner and left an infestation behind.

In Wigan letting agents Karen and Gemma are hoping a tenant who has taken advantage of his own father, has left the property he’s renting. Unfortunately, the property has been left in a horrendous state and will cost a significant amount to repair the damage.

And a serious case in Blackpool for letting agent John, where a fire leaves a property wrecked, all started from a cigarette burn.

This series follows the eviction specialists whose job it is to tackle tenants who can’t, or won’t pay the rent, and local authority housing offices tasked with going after rogue landlords. We also follow the work letting agents dealing with problem tenants. From a weed farm in a three-bedroom Blackburn semi, to drug addicts in a Blackpool bedsit, to 25 migrants squeezed into a suburban London home, Nightmare Tenants Slum Landlords, delves into dark side of Britain’s housing crisis.
