Industrial Hemp Bill Passed in Louisiana

It’s official: the 2019 Louisiana Legislative Session is complete, and Louisiana farmers will now have the chance to grow industrial hemp in the state. House Bill 491 by House Ag Committee Chairman Clay Schexnayder sets rules for growing #hemp and the sale of #CBD oil in Louisiana. Following a number of amendments in the senate, the measure passed both chambers, and Governor John Bel Edwards signed the bill into law on Thursday. Once the law goes into effect, the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry will set rules and regulate the growers of #industrialhemp.
