To his friends and father, Dante is a popular high school football star on track to enroll in business school. Behind closed doors, however, he hides a repressed identity and a passion for art. Now with graduation on the horizon, a lifetime of living up to his father’s rigid expectations causes Dante to dwell in negative thoughts and traumatic memories.
Feeling lost and hopeless, Dante finds solace in his secret sketches and paintings. When support from his art teacher helps him see that his talent for art is worth pursuing, he begins to gain confidence in his long-hidden abilities and becomes more able to accept himself.
