To participate and compete in the global cannabis marketplace, thoughtful regulation is key. The laws in each country determine the viability of successful production, manufacturing for export, and attracting investments for the required infrastructure. Regulations must ensure that product adheres to European good agricultural and manufacturing practices (GAP), the strictest in the world and where the wealthy consumer import markets currently exist. Importantly, permit types and access to licenses, along with quality education, can determine the course for local job creation and equity.
