Deteriorating professional wellness among teachers has been recognized as a major obstacle in the quest to educate our nation’s youth after the historic pandemic-related learning losses identified in 2022. Recent data suggest that burnout, lack of engagement, and declining well-being are even more pervasive among teaching professionals compared to other high-risk professions, including healthcare workers.
This workshop will explore how instructor burnout beginning pre-pandemic evolved in the United States. Maya will cover the scope and repercussions of the problem, and how HPE professionals have the unique and pivotal role in bridging health outcomes for their own profession as well as the next generation of children.
