A study led by Lee Johnson, Marc Malone, and others assessed 53 hemp-derived delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (∆9 THC) products in the US. While most stayed within the legal ∆9 THC limit, over 10% deviated from stated dosages. Although many provided lab reports, most didn’t check for impurities. Nearly half converted CBD to THC, and only a small percentage verified age at checkout. These findings highlight the need for enhanced regulation in this market.
