Discover the Unbelievable Benefits of Marijuana Over Prescription
In a groundbreaking study published in the “Exploration of Medicine” by researchers from Washington State University, an astonishing discovery has been made in the world of sleep aids. This comprehensive survey delved into the experiences of cannabis consumers grappling with sleep issues. The results? A resounding preference for marijuana over conventional sleep aids.
Marijuana, particularly in forms like smoking joints or vaping products containing THC, CBD, and the terpene myrcene, emerged as a popular choice. Participants in the study reported waking up feeling more refreshed, focused, and better equipped to tackle their day compared to those who used traditional sleep aids or none at all. They experienced fewer headaches and less nausea. However, it wasn’t all perfect – some did report feeling sleepy, anxious, or irritable after waking up.
What sets this study apart is its focus on comparing the effects of cannabis to both prescription sleep aids (PSAs) and over-the-counter (OTC) sleep aids. According to Carrie Cuttler, a WSU professor and co-author of the study, cannabis use for sleep-related issues was perceived as more advantageous than its OTC and prescription counterparts. Unlike long-acting sedatives and alcohol, cannabis did not induce a ‘hangover’ effect, although some lingering effects like sleepiness and mood changes were reported.
This eye-opening study not only challenges the traditional approach to tackling sleep issues but also opens up new conversations about the role of cannabis in sleep management.
