“Acupuncture for Medical Providers” by Dr. Audette

In this talk, Dr. Joseph F. Audette MA MD will present “Acupuncture for Medical Providers” where he will discuss the following: Current research and relevance of acupuncture in medical settings; what healthcare professionals should know about traditional Chinese treatment modalities; and emerging areas of research and exploration in the field.

Joseph F. Audette MA MD, earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in 1991 and completed a residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York in 1995 and is board certified in PM&R and Pain. While in New York, he trained at the Tristate School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. For the last 20 years he has been active on both a research basis and clinically integrating Chinese and Complementary and Alternative Therapies.

He is currently the Chief of the Department of Pain and Spine at Atrius Health. He is also the course director of an internationally recognized physician training course in acupuncture, Integrated Structural Acupuncture. His research interests include Myofascial Pain, Chinese Medicine and Japanese Acupuncture, and Chronic Pain and he has lectured nationally and internationally on these topics.
