Air mobility: Pioneers hope for multi billion-dollar business | DW News



Air taxi developers present their electrically powered mini airplanes as a new, sustainable form of air transportation. But there is still a long way to go from vision to reality. The German company Lilium is one of the pioneers of a high-tech industry that aims to generate billions in sales in just a few years. More environmentally friendly than helicopters or private jets, faster than cars or trains, according to proponents. But so far, there is no infrastructure whatsoever for taking off and landing e-planes. The technology is also still in its infancy.
