The fight against COVID has been waging for over two years. Scientists are looking for the best and most effective ways to prevent and treat COVID.
But a recent study from Oregon State University thinks cannabis could be the answer.
“Not marijuana, not THC, but CBD, might inhibit the COVID virus from entering both animal and human cells,” said OU Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dale Bratzler. “In a test tube where they basically put the virus in with human cells and put a solution of CBD.”
The headline caught the attention of many nationwide who were looking for protection. At Simple Pure CBD in midtown Tulsa, clients come in hoping to get some for themselves.
“After the study came out a lot of people have been coming in looking for the CBD-G or the CBD-A and we do offer it in a few products,” said owner Kali Pitcock. “They’re just kind of looking to alleviate the symptoms of COVID. A lot of people want preventive health care whether it will work or not.”
Bratzler says we’ll need more time to learn if those certain compounds in cannabis could help.
