itβs been for a while after 26/06/2021 Greater Sydney Lockdown.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has extended the lockdown for Greater Sydney until the end of September after NSW recorded 642 new local cases and four deaths on Friday.
The Premier said the lockdown extension with a suite of new restrictions – including mandatory outdoor masks across NSW unless exercising and a curfew in Sydneyβs west and south-west – was based on a sudden escalation in cases and police feedback. As Greater Sydneyβs lockdown nears the end of its eighth week, the state recorded its third consecutive day of more than 600 new cases.
