Hello everyone! Welcome back to Fast Lane TV. This video is about ” Dirty Secrets Of The Black Market Weed Industry “.
Cannabis doesn’t just materialize in a dispensary stock or a dealer’s back pocket. Someone has to cultivate the crops, and in Northern California, this typically means illegal farmers who squat on public land, pollute the environment with pesticides and other chemicals, and then leave behind what amounts to a tiny superfund site once they harvest their crops. There are many farmers that run honest, organic farms, but the cannabis business may be shady. Even if we keep the environment-damaging aspect of weed production on one side, the real problem is that often the weed we are getting isnβt weed at all, it is instead hemp sprayed with CBD. This means that it will have the same smell, taste, and feel but you will never get high and you might not even realize is what is happening.
Surprised? Shocked? Or maybe you might even feel outraged and well you have every right to be. After all, if you are paying for something then the least you should get is authentic stuff. Well, the problem is that production can simply keep up with demand as more and more people are consuming the drug and dealers now have to look for alternatives, which they can then sell to their clients. Well, this might sound harmless enough but the alternative in question is not that safe to consume.
So let us first look into what hemp is. Marijuana and hemp both come from the Cannabaceae family of plants. The hop plant (Humulus lupulus) is the only other well-known relative of this group of plants. It is used extensively in the production of beer. The name “cannabis” is commonly used to refer to the cannabis sativa plant. The THC (marijuana) level varies greatly between the many strains of this plant, and there are literally hundreds of them (hemp). Originating in Southeast Asia, which has a more humid climate and a longer growing season, this species is thought to have first appeared there. This causes it to take the longest to blossom and produce the most mass of any cannabis kind.
Now, why does Hemp exist? Well, Cannabis’ psychotropic effects come from the THC in the flower resin, which is why the plant is so well-known. But in most parts of the world, both THC and the plants that generate it are illegal. For the past 80 years, this has always been the case.
Besides its euphoric properties, the cannabis plant has many other desirable qualities. The fibrous stems are used to create textiles and biodiesel; the seeds are high in protein and fatty acids, and the leaves contain therapeutic substances like cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabichromene (CBC).
Some kinds of cannabis were found to not have any psychotropic properties immediately after the ban on THC and the plants that generate it. Later, it was decided that plants with less than 0.3% THC by dried weight met the criteria for classification as “hemp,” and these species were renamed accordingly.
Now you might be wondering how someone can sell this. Well, the answer is simple, people want to make money and they are going to do anything they can to get you to empty your wallets. Well, like we said earlier hemp isnβt real weed, or rather it is an extremely watered-down version of weed. Well, because of this it is very cheap. So what these dealers do is that they get bag loads of hemp and since it is legal, nobody can stop them from purchasing hemp. After they get their hands on hemp the next thing, they do is get some CBD distillate, they put that distillate in a spray bottle and then put it all over the hemp. What this does is it gives the weed an extremely strong smell and taste as it absorbs into the hemp.
So, if someone were to smoke that hemp, they would think that they are smoking weed as the taste, smell and feel would be the same. However, what they arenβt telling you is that the product might contain some ethanol. In theory, the ethanol usually dissipates after it is sprayed on the hemp, but some of it remains in the weed and when you smoke this contaminated weed, you are only exposing yourself to certain materials that are not good for you in any way possible.
