DESCRIPTION: The COVID-19 virus has created a worldwide pandemic of disease that is rapidly spreading. It moves from people to people mostly through the air (by coughing or sneezing), by personal contact (touching or shaking hands), and by touching your nose, mouth or eyes after contacting an infected surface. Symptoms appear 2–14 days after exposure. COVID-19 is an upper respiratory illness that causes a dry cough, fever and, when more severe, difficulty breathing. People at higher risk are older adults, people with chronic medical conditions, and those who have a compromised immune system.

At ICAA, we understand that many of your customers are in the higher-risk group. Nothing is more important to us than your health and well-being and that of the older adults your organization serves. We are focusing on ways to inform and support you, and your organization’s efforts, as you strive to promote the health and well-being of residents and staff in these challenging times.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Learn what you need to know about this coronavirus.
• Gain insights into how you, your team and your organization can respond to these challenges in order to ensure the physical, emotional and mental health of your residents and members.

NOTE: Dr. Carmona will address these issues and others during his webinar. You may submit questions for Dr. Carmona ahead of time, and he will answer as many as he can during the broadcast. (Send your questions to Dr. Kathie Garbe, kathiegarbe@icaa.cc.)

In addition to your own viewing, this new webinar will be recorded and available for you to use to educate your residents and staff. Watch for additional details.
