Exercise fan now 'symptom-free' of Parkinson's



A man with Parkinson’s disease has said his symptoms have faded after a major lifestyle change.

Scott Hanley began to experience the first signs of Parkinson’s disease six years ago and was diagnosed with the degenerative brain condition in 2017.

After the Covid-19 lockdowns, he started an intensive exercise regime at a Belfast gym, making big changes to his lifestyle.

There is currently no cure for Parkinson’s, but medics believe that exercise and lifestyle choices can help to alleviate and slow the effects of the disease.

Mr Hanley said that or the past 15 months, he says he he has not experienced any Parkinson’s symptoms and he attributes much of the improvement in his condition to his new lifestyle.
