Dr. Nina Ford John was born and raised in Indiana, at the age of 15, Nina and her family moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia where she graduated in 1999. In 2003, she received a bachelor’s degree at Tennessee State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Shortly thereafter, she enrolled at Meharry Medical College and received her medical doctorate. In 2011, she completed a 3 year residency program at the Baylor College of Medicine in the department of pediatrics. She has now been practicing as a full time Pediatrician in the greater Mobile area for 6 years with board appointments for the Medical Society of Mobile County, the Mobile County Health Department, the Medical Care Medicaid Advisory Committee for Alabama, and the Regional Perinatal Advisory Council of Alabama (Region IV). In her spare time, she loves to read, give lectures on Pediatric issues, spoiling her nieces and nephews, traveling with her husband (Pastor Alexander Johnson Jr), and singing classical music.
Dr. Julee Waldrop is a relative newcomer to Alabama, having moved here with her husband, Tony Waldrop, the President of The University of South Alabama, in 2014.
As First Lady, Dr. Waldrop supports the mission of the university in many ways. She is currently providing volunteer consultation at USA Health in developing a model for professional development and optimal service to patients and the organization for advanced practice providers. She has presented on numerous occasions to the faculty in general on the method of “flipping the classroom,” and consults with the Center on Innovation and Learning to support faculty in their development of scholarship of teaching and learning. She serves on the College of Nursing Development Council, a group of community nurses and alumni who are working to increase alumni involvement and community awareness of the college.
Dr. Amy McCoy is a board certified OBGYN who has been practicing in Mobile for over 7 years. She has served in numerous leadership roles in the medical community and loves educating women on their health and body. She has given multiple talks at the Teen Center, local colleges, local women’s groups, and to high school teams on women’s health topics. She was awarded 40 under 40 by Mobile Bay Magazine and is on the Alumni Board at the University of South Alabama. She completed her undergraduate degree, medical school, and residency at the University of South Alabama
Ingrid Hartman is the assistant director for AltaPointe Health Systems’ access to care department, CarePointe. In 2016, CarePointe specialists answered more than 75 thousand calls for help. Hartman has more than two decades of experience in the behavioral healthcare arena. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in both New Mexico and Alabama, and is certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). Hartman earned a bachelor’s in communications studies and a master’s in human development counseling from Vanderbilt University.
Chandra Brown – Chandra was born and raised in Mobile, AL. She graduated from Xavier University in New Orleans and the University of South Alabama. All she knows is servant leadership from Helpline phone crisis work to the Rape Crisis Center to the Lifelines Counseling Services. Chandra has been advocate for women, children and families in need throughout our community for 22 years and counting.
