The history of Hemp in the United States is fraught with legal controversy.
We interviewed Calvin Bailey, R&D + Agricultural Development & Division Manager for Greenhouse Growing Systems in Colorado. Calvin oversees the production of high-cbd hemp crops in multiple facilities in central Colorado, and is involved in the research and development of high-CBG (cannabigerol) strains, as well as crops designed specifically for industrial hemp use. Calvin is driving a focus on CBG strains because he believes, in the near future, extractors will be able to essentially decarboxylate CBG into other cannabinoids like CBD and THC, making it a malleable cannabinoid, perfect for fine-tuning THC:CBD ratios in cannabis extracts.
