Hong Kong is about to get its first CBD cafe. The venue will serve food, drinks and lifestyle products infused with cannabidiol, or CBD, a substance derived from the cannabis or marijuana plant, and which is believed to provide pain relief and relaxation. Though cannabis is not legal in Hong Kong, CBD products do comply with local laws if they do not contain THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive substance also found in cannabis. The cafe soft opened as it awaits food and beverage licenses, and was expected to be fully operational in October 2020.
