Sativa vs Indica

Sativa and Indica are 2 main species of cannabis plants, thousands of subspecies called “strains”

Indica – sedative, relaxing affect
Sativa – uplifting, cerebral affect
Hybrid – qualities of both indica and sativa

Honestly, too vague to be accurate…depends less on type of plant consumed, but more on the persons body chemistry and cannabis properties

Terpenes and cannabinoids are the real reasons that affect us.
Terpenes provide smell and taste
Cannabinoids that our bodies naturally have receptors for

Myrcene, commonly found terpene in cannabis that helps with stress and anxiety.
Found in both indica and sativa. Example:
Myrcene of volume more than .5% is considered indica
And under .5% is considered sativa

So all indica’s don’t sedate and all sativa’s don’t invigorate

Metabolism, mobility and genetics affect how an individual feels the cannabis
So, some people have more receptors in their brainstem which allow them to intake more or feel the affects less than someone who may have body ailments that are stopping them from affect said receptors

If chemical compounds and unique physiology’s of humans are determinations, why do we keep using indica and sativa when they have no scientific merit?

Convenience? Maybe. Possibly little knowledge or ignorance.
