“I believe the essence of physical therapy is to connect with my patients in an attempt to understand the person I am working with. It is this collaborative approach to care that enables a patient to become the master of their own recovery and decrease the time spent away from their passions. My ultimate goal is to help people do what they love and provide them with the tools they require to maintain that function throughout the lifespan.”
Dr. Josh Davis grew up on the Connecticut shoreline where he participated in every sport he had access to, finally choosing to specialize in soccer and swimming during his high school years. He attended the University of Connecticut for his undergraduate studies where he majored in Physiology & Neurobiology with a minor in Neuroscience. Following his move to Denver, he went on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado.
Prior to moving to Colorado, Josh worked in genomics research at Boston Children’s Hospital and was a Genetic Analysis Specialist with a global life sciences company. His passion for health and wellness drove him to open a CrossFit gym on the Connecticut shoreline. During this time he obtained a wide breadth of experience in the fitness community including achieving status as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Level 2 CrossFit Trainer, and USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach. His passion for helping others achieve their ideal function is what motivated him to become a healthcare practitioner with the goal of becoming a resource to disseminate health and wellness information to all.
Dr. Davis was drawn to MEND because of his desire to be part of community dedicated to providing exceptional care to all individuals that come through the door. He believes one-on-one care to be an essential component of the physical therapy process as he strives to implement a total wellness approach to his patients along the continuum of care. He has experience treating all orthopedic conditions with a focus in treating shoulder pain, knee pain, and acute musculoskeletal injuries.
In his spare time, Josh enjoys CrossFit in his garage gym, a quality adult beverage outdoors with friends, spending time with his partner, Sarah, and their chihuahua, Aren, and all the amazing activities Colorado has to offer.
Dr. Davis sees patients at the MEND locations in Boulder and Lafayette.
