Keto Diet – Good or Bad? | Beginners Guide | Ketogenic Diet | Health and Wellness

What is Keto diet?

The ketogenic diet, commonly known as the keto diet, is a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that has been shown to have numerous health benefits. The main idea behind the keto diet is to reduce your carbohydrate intake and replace it with healthy fats, which then puts your body in a state of ketosis.

What are the benefits of Keto diet?

In ketosis, your body switches its primary energy source from glucose (sugar) to ketones, which are produced from the breakdown of fat in the liver. This shift in metabolism is believed to have a range of benefits, including weight loss, improved blood sugar control, and increased energy levels

Keto diet may reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer

To follow the keto diet, you typically need to limit your carbohydrate intake to less than 50 grams per day, while increasing your fat intake to around 70-80% of your daily calories. Protein intake is typically moderate, at around 20-25% of your daily calories.

What are the disadvantages of Keto diet?

One must note that while the ketogenic diet can have many benefits for some people, there are also potential downsides to consider. Here are some of the cons of a keto diet:

Β· Difficulty sticking to the diet: Many people find it challenging to give up carbohydrates and to eat high amounts of fat. This leads to a feeling of deprivation

Β· Possible nutrient deficiencies: The keto diet restricts many food groups, which can lead to deficiencies in certain nutrients, such as fiber, vitamin C, and potassium.

Β· Risk of unhealthy fats: While the keto diet emphasizes healthy fats, such as those found in nuts, seeds, and avocados, it can also be high in unhealthy saturated and trans fats, particularly if people consume high amounts of processed or fried foods.

So should we follow Keto?

It’s absolutely an individual choice and we do not support or discourage it. The main intention of this video is to make our viewers aware of the benefits and disadvantages and then make a constant decision. Ultimately we need to understand that good health needs to be our first priority
