Making Buttermilk Soap with REAL Pumpkin and Oatmeal | Findlay Creek Soap Company

Welcome to the Findlay Creek Soap Company! Today is my FIRST attempt at a cold process soap using buttermilk AND pumpkin puree! This turned out to be a really lovely soap, perfect for the amazing autumn weather we have here in Ottawa and super moisturizing for the dry skin that results from the cooling temperatures. The soap is scented with a blend of sweet orange essential oil and cinnamon leaf essential oil to give the essence of pumpkin pie and colloidal oats for the perfect amount of gentle exfoliation.

Recipe:
42% Olive Oil
25% Coconut Oil
10% Hemp Seed Oil

8% Shea Butter
5% Castor Oil

5% superfat

I use Soap Calc to determine the amounts of oils/butter, lye and water to include in the recipe, based on the above percentages
