Author Douglas Murray says the odour of marijuana spreading through city streets is “the smell of failure” for that government and its citizens.
“I had some friends from London visiting in New York recently and they had four children, all under the age of ten … the five-year-old said, ‘what is that smell’,” Mr Murray told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“I said it is the smell of failure, to which the mother mouthed thank you at me.
“People pretend the decriminalisation of drugs does not involve a whole set of other problems.
“You do not see an uptick in the average well-being of the population.”
