As we continue our tour in Barcelona (which you can follow through my stories on Instagram Here) the word ‘Expectation’ seems to be the sticking point in my mind regularly. Diving deeper into this anxiety epiphany, I’ve come to realize that what we expect has the greatest chance to manifest itself in our lives, however we run into a problem here because…
Anxiety sufferers unconsciously and continuously expect the worst which could easily be the driving force behind their chronic anxiety in mind and body.
Think about it, the initial moments when you wake up you’re still in a haze, re-orienting yourself back into your present environment. However, what tends to happen just a few moments later? We begin to expect what has been common and familiar in our bodies, and our minds follow suit.
You expect the aches and pains that accompany you, and you find it.
You expect a mind cluttered with catastrophic ideas, and you find it.
What we expect tends to be realized! This, must be your anxiety epiphany for the day as well.
Do this right now:
Close your eyes and imagine that you’re sitting in an Imax theatre as you watch the anxious you on the movie screen. Take a bite into your popcorn, sip your drink, and just keep watching your entire morning unfold as you become the observer of the old you.
What just happened?
You begin living your life from a place of creation, from a conscious place, a place of deeper awareness rather than unconsciously within what I like to call ‘zombie consciousness,’
Lots of love.
