This session focuses on understanding the value of the psychosocial care team within the context of the multidisciplinary team. We discuss different models and compositions of teams, how teams navigate and make use of the overlap between roles, and practical strategies to utilize the team for addressing the mental health needs of patients and family members. Barriers to effective communication between team members are discussed as well as strategies to overcome these barriers.
