In the state of Nebraska we can see evidence of massive plantings of industrial hemp, remnants of agricultural endeavors to grow the plant to make rope for the Navy during World War 2. Despite a massive (and massively idiotic) campaign by the DEA to eradicate these plants during the 70s (which obviously failed), THC-lacking hemp persists on the prairie landscape here, where we see it growing in abundance on the shores of the Platte River along with #Andropogon gerardii, #Cyclachaena xanthiifolia, #Helianthus maximiliani, and more. We also explore some of the wonderful members of a cast of prairie plants that instantly quell the homicidal thoughts incurred by participating in today’s “race-to-nowhere”. Bringing you the wonders of botany as we race and flail towards Dystopia, this is Crime Pays But Botany Doesn’t.
