“This is the largest diabetes screening camp which is being conducted for the police force and family members in Chennai. The screening will take place in all the police housing quarters in Chennai limit where even our family members will also get benefited. Preventive diabetes screening is essential to identify individuals at risk and enable timely interventions, reduce complications and promote healthier life. We are happy to associate with Neuberg Diagnostics for this screening camp.” Said Shri Shankar Jiwal IPS, Director General of Police Tamil Nadu.
“Launching ‘Wellness on the Wheels’ is a pioneering step towards a healthier future. This initiative brings comprehensive preventive health check-ups to your doorstep, promoting early diagnosis and well-being. WOW will initiate the culture of preventive healthcare while reaching out to economically weaker and rural & remote sections in the state. With advanced diagnostic tools and expert healthcare professionals, ‘Wellness on the Wheels’ is the embodiment of accessible, quality care. Diabetes is creating a great havoc to our society, we are happy to organize this diabetic health camp for our State Superheroes. In general Policemen do not have a regular time schedule. They have to work more than the normal hours every day which leads to irregular and unhealthy eating habits. After the age of 40, we see most of the people being diagnosed with diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol and lifestyle diseases. The primary reasons for the rise in complications are delay in diagnosis and lack of regular follow ups.” Said Dr GSK Velu, Chairman and Managing Director Neuberg Diagnostics.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Shri. Shankar Jiwal IPS, Director General of Police Tamil Nadu for taking out his valuable time for inaugurating WOW (Wellness on the wheels), he added further.
The Diabetic Health Camp organised for the police personnel and their family members is comprised of Height, Weight, BMI, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar Levels, Test, Eye Check and doctor consultation. The 18 days of diabetic health camp will be held across all the police quarters in the Chennai city in the respective areas, Mylapore, Thousand Lights, Egmore, Pudupet, Kondithope, Tondiarpet, Royapuram, Sembium, Anna Nagar, Shenoy Nagar, Kilpauk, St Thomas Mount and Alandur.
