#TOIDW Nuns are smoking weed to destigmatize its consumption in Mexico. They are dressed in nun habits but do not follow any religion. Instead, they are part of an international group called ’Sisters of the Valley’ founded in 2014. They say they want to spread more information about the healing powers of cannabis by growing their own and giving workshops about the plant. The group is structured like its role models, the Beguines: who organised the first nurses. The branch there started their own cannabis business in 2015 selling CBD products from their home-grown plants. Much of weed production in Mexico is banned.
