In a massive drug haul, 1 metric ton of cannabis worth Rs 1 crore had been seized by Assam and Tripura Police on Saturday. The seizure happened in Churaibari village along the Assam-Tripura border during two different search operations by both the state’s police teams. The contraband was seized from 35 packets in a fruit tray and inside rubber seats from two trucks bearing registration numbers HP31C-5226 and PB01AN-5971.
Four persons namely Hemraj Singh, Santosh Kumar, Sridhar Srikanth and Anil Kumar have been arrested in connection with the case.
