A 42-year-old Punjabi singer, Fatehjit Singh, has been detained for his involvement in a scheme to send people to the U.S. using fake visas. The arrest took place at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, as officials revealed on Thursday. Fatehjit, hailing from Jalandhar in Punjab, was caught while trying to send someone to the U.S. through an illegal route.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police at the airport, Usha Rangnani, shared that during questioning, Fatehjit confessed to his role in the scam. He explained that he had studied up to Class 12 and worked as a singer, performing shows around the world. However, he got involved in the fake visa racket after meeting an agent named Sultan Singh. Together, they began tricking people with promises of sending them to the U.S., and Fatehjit saw this as a way to make quick money.
