Guest Background:

Currently, I serve as Associate Director, Strategic Partnerships & Development at UW-Madison’s Global Health Institute where I create philanthropic and academic partnerships to address the interconnected issues of health, equity and climate change; and work with partners to advance research, policy and programming in our core thematic areas of one health, health systems, climate change, women and well-being.

In this role, I also lead research to investigate hemp’s intersections across the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and develop recommendations for multi-sectoral collaboration, research and policies that target specific SDG indicators.

Prior to UW, I worked with credit unions, cooperatives and development partners to advance accessible financial services and products to communities worldwide. As Managing Vice President, Business Development & Financial Empowerment for Summit Credit Union, I worked across the organization to develop strategic plans and led operations for the financial education and corporate wellness initiatives.

During my tenure as Executive Director of the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions, I led the Foundation’s strategic planning, fundraising, grantmaking and operations to strengthen the economic security of communities around the globe. In addition, I led the World Council’s Global Women’s Leadership program and oversaw operations, programming, partnerships and events to advance female leaders and increase women’s access to financial services and products worldwide.

In 2008 – 2012, I managed the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars’ Global Health Initiative—a top 10 global think tank—where I developed and executed policy-relevant dialogue events on the intersections of global health and climate change, convening U.S. and international policymakers, UN agencies, private sector, donors, NGOs and academia to generate transdisciplinary solutions and catalyze global action.

I enjoy being an active member of my community and recently held board positions with the Domestic Abuse Intervention Services, Girl Scouts Badgerland and UW-Madison Economic Justice Institute, School of Law.

I have a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Case Western Reserve University and bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I dove on the Women’s Swim and Dive team. Go Badgers!
