SHOULD COFFEE BE MY DRUG OF CHOICE? #MENTAL WELLNESS#AWARENESS#ANXIETY#DEPRESSION#ADDICTION#SELFCARE

Coffee is not a beverage, it is a drug; however there are some documented health benefits and side effects just like any other drug. Coffee should therefore be used carefully and consciously, like any over the counter drugs ( for example, aspirin is good for your heart but taking too many aspirin pills can cause ulcers and stomach bleeds)!
A prolonged use of powerful stimulant caffeine; has been linked to insomnia, heart disease and anxiety; BUT just like positive effects of many other drugs-dopamine produced by coffee can also improve mood in people who are depressed. There are hundreds of chemicals in coffee; including the well -known and powerful stimulant caffeine, stimulate alertness in chronic fatigue people, improve mental performance plus focus, facilitate weight loss, decrease edema ( as a fluid pill) skin puffiness “eye bag remedies- there are creams made with coffee mixtureπŸ˜‚ . As an antioxidant, (polyphenols ) this act as a calming agent for inflammation in the body. Consumption of coffee should be moderate and organic whenever possible. There are pesticides and herbicides in non-organic coffee that harm your body, mind and the environment. Decaffeinated coffee, while not organic, has methylene chloride as part as its decaffeination process. Organic coffee has some health benefits, but its addictive qualities as well as the potential for negative mental effects; should be consumed in moderation. I believe that a cup of coffee can be effective for regulating circadian rhythms in the morning ;but in the afternoon and at night it should be avoided unless one is consciously in need of a stimulant. There is no doubt that caffeine might assist in combating fatigue. It is important to be aware that using coffee alone to address fatigue can raise the body’s adrenaline levels and result in a adrenal fatigue.
