It has been four months since WNBA star Brittney Griner was sentenced to 9 years in a Russian prison after being detained at a Moscow airport with cannabis oil. The Daily Mail reports that the conditions at the penal colony she is at is infamous for “slavery-like conditions.” The State Department, meanwhile, says it is still working to get Griner out of the country.
