Sweeten Creek Mental Health & Wellness Center Groundbreaking

TRANSCRIPT:

[Melina Arrowood] We are just beginning the process of building a new state-of-the-art 120-bed behavioral health hospital called Sweeten Creek Mental Health & Wellness Center.

[Greg Lowe] I am incredibly excited about the new mental health and wellness center here for western North Carolina. There’s been an increased need for care in this region.

[Melina Arrowood] We are very excited about this as it not only expands our ability and capacity to care for patients, but it also expands the services that we’re going to be able to provide.

[Greg Lowe] HCA Healthcare in the North Carolina Division and Mission Health, we are making an investment in this center, fulfilling our commitment to western North Carolina.

[Manisha Shah] HCA Healthcare has a large footprint of mental health services across the country. Hence we are uniquely positioned as we open this mental health and wellness center to learn from across the country and bring to our patients advanced therapies, technologies, evidence-based practices.

[Melina Arrowood] We will have new outside recreational space for all of our patients as well as an indoor gymnasium, music therapy, art therapy.

[Manisha Shah] This new mental health and wellness center is going to create immediate as well as long-lasting positive impact in the community because there’s such growing needs and demands for the services.

[Greg Lowe] This is a facility or a center that will serve the needs of the entire western North Carolina region and beyond, and being able to be a part of this is something really special.

[Chad Patrick] Yeah, we’re very excited. We’ve been caring for mental health patients for for many many decades, and this gives us the opportunity to expand those services to desperately needed patients that need our services here in the 18 counties.

[Melina Arrowood] We are so excited as Mission Health to be able to help provide this additional care – close to home.
