A lot has been said recently about the alcohol consumption habits of Gen Z and it seems to be much ado about nothing. For one thing, a substantial number of Gen Z isn’t old enough to legally consume alcohol yet and the ones who are of age aren’t really drinking less, they’re just drinking different. Plus, their attitudes toward identity don’t necessarily jive with how alcohol in general and beer in particular has been marketed for several decades.
In other Booze News, the future of hemp-derived beverages is uncertain as Southern Glazers, the largest spirits and wine distributor in the US quietly discontinues several of its hemp-derived beverage brands.
Meanwhile, the Kentucky ABC is cracking down on vintage spirits dealers over what it considers abuse of the state’s vintage spirits law. And they are cracking down hard by threatening to take aways licenses.
