As someone who is passionate about taking care of my skin from the inside and out, I’ve tried countless routines over the years to support my complexion. When I hit my thirties, I noticed my skin really needed some extra care.
At the same time, being incredibly busy means that applying ten different skincare products each morning and evening is simply not realistic – and you know what? I’ve actually found that the routine which has truly transformed my skin is actually surprisingly simple. Here I’m sharing what has become my ultimate easy and effective protocol for achieving a healthy, radiant glow – and helps slow the clock on ageing, too.
I always start my day with Greens + Collagen
Love thinking of this one as my “instant green juice” each morning. I’m obsessed with the delicious tropical and mint flavour of the Greens + Collagen formula simply mixed with water. It contains a selection of my top green superfoods (think wheatgrass, barley grass, broccoli, kale and spinach) along with hydrolysed marine collagen for a dose of skin-loving nourishment.
4-Step Vitamin Skincare Routine both morning and night!
I have always used natural skincare, yet for many years I couldn’t find products that were natural yet also powerfully efficacious. That’s why I created our 4-Step Vitamin Skincare System and it wasn’t until I began making it part of my daily regime that I saw real transformation in my complexion from topical products. It’s formulated with science-backed ingredients (like my favourite vitamins!) and enriched with powerful botanicals, plus is quick and easy to use… but really delivers results.
The first step in this routine is the Balancing Vitamin Cleanser, a gentle yet effective cleanser designed to purify and protect the skin’s natural barrier. I ensure I’m getting plenty of quality fats in my diet
Including a source of quality fats at each meal is part of the JSHealth philosophy and being consistent with this is a key factor I believe has helped change my skin for the best. Why? Beneficial dietary fats help keep the skin moisturised and hydrated for softer, smoother skin.
Omega-3 fatty acids also have anti-inflammatory properties. My go-to options are avocado, nuts and seeds, fatty fish (such as salmon, tuna and mackerel), and olive or coconut oil.
Every day I consume my 2-3 litres of water
This may sound more basic, however I truly believe that keeping my hydration levels up is an essential part of my inside-out skincare routine. As humans, we are made up mostly of water! I aim for 2-3 litres each day in the form of plain H20 or herbal teas. Tip: try infusing your water with ingredients like fresh mint, cucumber, citrus, ginger or berries to add a natural burst of flavour!
Sleep for 8 hours each night
It’s called ‘beauty sleep’ for a reason and I am a firm believer in the importance of sleep for wellbeing in general and your skin health. I always follow my signature Sleepy Routine to prepare for a restful and rejuvenating night’s sleep.
