Springboard began in Ghana as an entrepreneurship and self-development rally for young people in January 2007. Today, the Springboard Road Show Foundation runs a multi-layered series of interventions at the forefront of promoting youth entrepreneurship, leadership and influencing public policy on youth in Ghana. Over the past 15 years, 300,000 young people have attended these annual mentoring Road Shows in-person across Ghana, Nigeria and Gambia.
In 2020, Springboard was appointed by the Mastercard Foundation to execute the COVID-19 Recovery and Resilience (CoRe) Programme. By deploying innovative e-Learning, e-Mentoring and e-Counselling platforms over a 6-month period, CoRe impacted over 23,056,950 young beneficiaries across Ghana and beyond. They were empowered with resilience, health awareness, wellness and safety, workplace skills and job readiness to cope with the disruptions of COVID-19.
June 2021 saw Springboard pioneering the Springboard Youth Dialogues, a much-needed platform for direct engagement between Ghana’s teeming youth and policymakers.
Springboard is the brainchild of life coaches Albert Ocran and Comfort Ocran, both fellows of the Africa Leadership Initiative – West Africa and the Aspen Global Leaders Network based in Colorado, USA.
