Tripura police seize 1359 kg cannabis hidden in an oil tanker



Tripura Police has seized 1359 kg marijuana worth around 1 crores near the Assam border on Thursday night. The police seized the huge quantity of cannabis hidden in an oil tanker in Tripura. Three persons were arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle cannabis out of the state. The market value of the seized consignment is approximately Rs. 1 crore. Total weight of the seized cannabis is 1359 kg. It was concealed in 99 packets. Further investigation is underway. As per the information, in last around six months more than 20,000 kg of marijuana has been seized along with a huge quantity of contraband cough syrups, tablets, heroine in Tripura. As much as 65 people have been arrested in connection to drug peddling.
