Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India went on a three-day visit to the United States. Everyone was excited because there was a lot of talk about him meeting former President Donald Trump. Just days before Modi arrived, Trump announced at a rally in Michigan that he would be meeting with Modi, calling him a “fantastic” leader.
However, things took a turn. During that same rally, Trump made some controversial remarks, calling India a “very big abuser” when it came to import tariffs. He said, “These people are the sharpest people… They use it against us.” This comment created a buzz and made many wonder how Modi would respond.
