US news: Eligible green card holders can get US citizenship in just three weeks



The U.S. government is encouraging more Indian Americans to apply for citizenship and register for the upcoming elections. Indian Americans with Green cards can become citizens in just three weeks. And interestingly, Most Green card holders in the U.S. are Indian Americans and Asian Americans.

Green card holders who have lived in the U.S. for five years can get their citizenship and register to vote. The government is helping people register early since most states have deadlines.

But yes, it is advised that green card holders should consider converting to U.S. citizens before elections for several reasons. First of all it gives you voting right, only U.S. citizens can vote in federal, state, and local elections, allowing them to have a say in how the country is run and who represents them.
